I wonder how much firepower is been carried in that convoy?
Allot considering the Queen has the remote control for the UK's nuclear weapons arsenal tucked away in her hand bag.

No, as you know, I meant that it is not the property of the political movement known as republicanism, hence 'republican'. I think I said this country, and as this forum is boards.ie I thought it was pretty clear where I was talking about. I didn't say Ireland.
But the country of Ireland reffers to all of Ireland, including Northern Ireland which is not represented by the tricolour. Except of course republicans which is why I called it the republican flag.

I suppose the unionist flag of Ireland would be this:

Quit with the "inferior" bull****. You've been corrected on numerous occasions and repeating it is making your posts come across as arrogant / condescending / ignorant / thick / illiterate.

I'm not saying that you are, BTW, because I don't know you and I won't fall into the trap of ridiculous generalisations or personal digs....

I'm just pointing out repeatedly posting something that you've been corrected on numerous times make your posts certainly come across as that.

The orange in the Tricolour represents/acknowledges the orange tradition in Ireland.

Yeah who the **** does she think she is... 50 cent.

RTE focusing on the garden, and its history. Nobody really focused - or outraged - at the fact that it's a junkie hangout.

I remember as a schoolchild we were turned away from the gates, because they were clearing needles out of it.

    Big protests there?

Ha!! This post just about sums up all those who have turned out to protest!
    "Reed" ...... "Very tension" .......

    HA!

It's yet more gibberish from the self-appointed on the spot reporter. I don't think the Sky News talent scouts will be heading his way.

I flicked on to watch the event at work and while the stream was fine earlier, it's awfully slow now, (from RTE.ie) is anyone else finding this? I'm having no bother on other sites here.

There is no country of Ireland encompassing the entirety of the island of Ireland. The Republic of Ireland retracted any claims to the entirety of the island of Ireland as part of the Good Friday Agreement.

Ireland can be two things. The Republic of Ireland, commonly known as Ireland. And the island of Ireland, made up of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. And it's generally know that people are referring to the Republic when they mention Ireland and the tricolour. And that is in no way confusing for anyone. What is confusing is when you say the republican flag, because there is no such thing as a republican flag.

You're just being deliberately obtuse and argumentative.

Not sure whether you're correct on the "country of Ireland" statement, but that aside you renamed the flag of a state in order to include a minority group ? To the point of excluding the state itself ?

You need to learn the difference between country and state.

Granted colloquially it's fine to reffer to the Irish tricolour as the "Irish" flag but honestly it is not the flag that represents all people of Ireland and should never be described as such.
