And then a dignified procession onto Champions Sports to smash the window in and grab some Air Max.

I specifically told them not to use bricks when they collect the Plasma TV that I ordered yesterday from looters r us.

I think they intend on going to the place on Moore Street where the 1916 leaders had their last stand when The Queen is going to the garden of rememberance.

Aye, that's what the guy making the speech was saying.

Doesn't look like they have a chance of getting anywhere near O'Connell street by the looks of it. Well barricaded and lots of cops.

One protestor appeared to be wearing a Liverpool shirt. As you do.

Protestors on Sky now, making fools of themselves.

Sky News have them on. Pointing out that 81% of Irish people don't have a problem with the visit.

Loud protesters in the minority. Good luck to them and their protest, but they're not representative of the majority views of Irish people.

'How do you keep the locals off the booze long enough to stage a republican sit down?'

This thread really does attract the ignorant today so it does.

I think that it is great day to be Irish! Our country looks beautiful and our DF have done us proud. The coverage we are getting on other news networks is very postive. It is a welcome break from all the misery.

Today I saw the queen of england standing between two Irish soldiers and it made me really proud.

    :o

In fairness Sky News are a tabloid 24 News Channel and need sensationalism to fill up those hours.

What planet are you living on..all the yank news sites have the same word on the queens visit: BOMB.

Not quite sure how the army have done us proud either but then I'm not watching the coverage...are their buttons particularly shiny?

    ah good ol RTE.

NO footage, just a journos version of events in relation to the protests which is par the course when RTE dont want to cover something.

man isnt it great to get such value from your TV liscence ?

Apart from the fact that nobody really gives a shít about them. For all we know RTE may have been instructed to play down any protests/threats as a security measure. There are laws on broadcasting in the country so maybe there are some special rules on this occasion? Suppose will tell if TV3 cover it.

If they wore Ireland tops it wouldnt make them look as stupid.

very surreal experience to walk down O'Connell street at the moment. Hundreds of Gardai on the ground and snipers on the roof tops.

You may not be familiar with the protocol but this is courtesy that is extended to ANY visiting head of state.

There was a glimpse of a Liverpool jersey there too. A handful of fringe lunatics and scangers is all they are.

Agreed but the protest is happening and RTE have totally blanked it. Seems par for the course from the state run spin station.

You would think that after "that" picture they would leave the celtic jersey at home
