Did anyone else notice Mary offer her a nice cup of tea when she arrived? She's probably gasping by this stage.

I wonder how far the protestor's loyalty goes. Does their loyalty to Ireland mean that they only support all things Irish. Like they would never be tempted to watch British drama or purchase cheap DVD or CD's from Amazon

They could have told us to fcuk off and given us nothing

We should have told the British property developers and bondholders to **** off in the first place when the taxpayer bailed them out. 8 billion is a drop in the ocean.

Annoying how the BBC guy says the Queen is visiting Britain's closest neighbour for the first time..

Shes been to the North before! I assume he means the U.K's closest neighbour.

Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdon of Great Britain and Northern Ireland funnily enough.

Ah unless that your point, in which case France is Britains nearest neighbour.

Thought the soldiers/officers/band, and the Aras looked great.
and nowt so far on the radio or TV about the disturbances on o connel street.

I would have thought the least amount of coverage they can give them is definately for the best.

    from the rte tracker:

1324 Today in London, to mark the Queen's visit to Ireland, the band of the Irish Guards played The Derry Air (Danny Boy), The Irish Washer Woman and the Irish Salute during the Changing of The Guard at Buckingham Palace.

The music was arranged and conducted by Musical Director Major Wayne Hoplar.

The band has 43 musicians, many of whom are Irish. They were joined by the Pipes and Drums of the Scots Guards.

Some of the soldiers on parade today have just returned from a six-month tour of Afghanistan where they worked in support of British army medical services.

It is a rare event for the musicians to put on a special repertoire in honour of a state visit.

    A nice touch.

    Get over it.

Shower of friggin' peasants, rather whinge about the past than do anything positive.

So Xivilai, who do you know who died in the famine? Any family members? Any family members killed in the troubles?

I'm guessing that you couldn't tell I wasn't being serious by my obvious bad spelling and faked rage. Keep up the good work.

Also, why would you ask someone that personally. What if I said I knew people that died? What would you say, "Carry on then"?

Really? They gave us 8 billion? We dont have to give it back do we? Or pay interest?

It's so we can keep spending €3,500 per head on British goods for every man, woman and child per year.

What did you spend your €3,500 grand on?

RTE break their coverage of the Queens visit and then put on the news which is all about the Queens visit:D

Why give troublemakers and attention-seekers the exposure ?

At matches they stopped showing crowd trouble and streakers because it encouraged such activity.

The headlines across the world that focus on the bomb scares and threats are bad enough without showing rent-a-mob on TV.

    its called "news" liam

just cause you dont like it doesnt mean you can ignore it.

unless of course you want to go the ceausescu route and pretend everythings great.

Nothing on RTE about the protests. Typical state run spin

100 protesters? That's not bad at all. A poll Sky was quoting earlier says 81% of Irish people don't have a problem with the visit. That'll do.

According to Sky News the Riot Horses have come down past the Garden of Remembrance. I'm sure WT will get a text about it soon enough ;)
