Hi, does this extend to pubs. I dont see where it says that it doesnt but I seem to remember Pat Rabbitte saying food served in pubs would remain at 13.5%

I threw it around the office and I am getting blanks so I could be wrong and maybe the proposed 9% will apply (subject to confirmation in FB 2011)

From reading the directive on the website then it looks as if food sold is at 9% however alcohol and soft drinks sold as part of the meal would have to be charged at 13.5%.

Yeah I am thinking the same but definately remember a discussions on pubs not being able to avail of the lower rate for food... maybe I am going insane :)

You could be right because the whole lower vat rate stinks anyway:

    If you think about it:

Kit Kat in vending machine 9% VAT(No employee)
    Kit Kat in a shop 13.5% VAT(Employee)

Is this really going to help create jobs? Doubt it!!!
