Anyone heard of Computertrace Option?

Bought a Dell Vostro 3700 a few months back and I decided to go through the BIOS and add a password, change settings to my liking etc. but I came across something called "Computertrace option". Its currently disabled and I'm guessing its something to do with tracking the computer but does anyone have any idea what it…

when you are buying a current dell there is some group you can subscribe to which track a laptop if its stolen.. apparently most major manufacturers now - toshiba, packard bell, dell etc have it built into the bios...even if you dont subscribe..
its built into the bios so it cant be removed...so basically its a perfect way to ensure it cant be stolen...
well it can be but the can never go on the internet with it

thats my thoughts anyway...
