    Saturday May 7th
    LSR

Off into the park to to maybe 11/12m. Met up with Shaz, Aimman, Digger, Jcsmum, Pistol and Claralara.

Was great to run with a group as i haven't done that before. We were brought on a running tour of Dublin and was enjoying it and then....... the hill. I made it up it but my god i thought was chest was going to explode :) Took me a while to get back into it again. The pace was faster than what i would normally run at... i think i did ok at keeping up, i felt ok.
I was heading back to the car and was going to stop at 11.2 but decided i would go to 11.5 but then my arm was twisted to just do the 12 by claralara.
I really enjoyed this run and have to say i was happy with my pace.
So... 12miles in 1:56:50 @ 9.43... now if only i can go a bit faster next week maybe.... just maybe i mite get sub 2.... maybe!!!!!:D
Was lovely to run with you guys.... well behind some of you really :D and good to meet you all too

Hey there! Well done again on a great run on Saturday! It was lovely to meet you! Best of luck on Sunday :D

Just reading through your log Nules I see you got a great long run in at the weekend . I reckon you are going to be mighty close to that 2 hour mark in Kildare, hopefully with the adrenaline on the day you might even sneak under it. Looks like we are going to get the weather you were hoping for (ie freezing) rather than the heatwave I wanted :( Best of luck for the race ... only 4 days to go

I would love to get under the 2hr mark but i think it will be tight to be honest. As far as the weather is concerned not a fan of the wind so hopefully it will stay away. The very best of luck to you on sunday. Hope you hit you goal.

    Splits :D
    Scoop 1 : 9.38
    Scoop 2: 9.13
    Chocolate sauce : 9.19
My fellow runners made me do it ;)

Bad idea to go running in Skerries when the kiosk is still open.... but it was soooo enjoyable. Last run till sunday :)

Kildare Half may 15th A PB but not a sub 2

I felt good going into this race. No injuries had put in the training... my last long run had me confident that maybe just maybe i could pull off a sub 2, but somewhere at the back of my head i was unsure.... Myself and shaz decided we would line up behind the sub 2hr pacer. We started off and as i looked at my garmin the pace said 8.40 and i thought to myself this is way too fast for me.... i can keep that pace maybe for 4/5 miles but 13 not a hope. I kept with it for about 3 miles and decided nope time to fall back and reassess the situation. Decided to try keep it at 9.15/9.20 if i could and would be happy to come in as close to 2 hrs as possible set a time at this stage for 2:05. I managed to keep it at 9.15/9.20 up to mile 8 and then for 9/10/11 it fell back to 9.55. I have no idea why. Legs were tired i was tired. Last mile was in 9.35.
I crossed the line in 2:03:34 Pace 9:23
I am happy with this time as my last half at the cliffs of moher were 2:16 so a huge improvement and i know i have a sub 2 in me. 3rd time lucky :D
Weather was perfect. T-shirt nice shade of blue and a sweat band too :D

Congrats on a great race Nules. You should have stretched out the race report a bit more , if every there was a good reason to brag it's when you manage to PB by 13 mins :eek::eek: I'm not suprised you had a tough patch around mile 9 , I though it was by far the hardest part of the course. If that 2:03:34 time is your gun time your chip time will be that bit closer to the 2 hr mark so your almost there :)

Thanks concerned2. Not great at putting into words my experiences however i can sure as hell talk :D The time i quoted was my official chip time. To be honest went out too fast and after the first 3 miles i found it hard. should have just stuck to my own pacing 8.40 was way too fast for me starting out as i always find the first 3 miles toughest and usually settle into a good stride after that. I should trust me more

Eh you left out the part where you were chatting away like billeo to some bloke during these first few miles :D...I could barely talk and you were having a full conversation!! Linked to your first miles being tough by any chance :P

Eh he was chatting to me.... but yes could be linked to the first few miles being tough. Next time i think i should be gagged before i go out.... sub 1.40 here i come :D i am joking before anyone starts telling me fair play and no bother to ya ;)

    Tuesday 17th may
    Recovery Run
    3m in 30.28 pace 10.07
I felt really guilty when i read others logs on how they recovered yesterday... with gym sessions and 4m runs (yes i am looking at you Shaz and pistol :D) mine consisted of a bar of chocolate and the sofa :o
So i went out for a little run today. Legs are very tired but to be honest i found running easier than walking... especially going upstairs :)

Hey Nules, just catching up on your race report now. Well done on a great PB, wow thats some improvement!

:D you're welcome!!! As for finding running easier than walking, nope I def didn't find that today...maybe I should have gone for the choc and couch option yesterday instead :)
