Lizzie's coming to Ireland then... Mixed reaction from the people, but she'll certainly get a warm welcome from the sheep.

    Maaaaaaa'am.

What gets my goat, is the 'private' nature of a costly 'public visit'. How hard would it have been to allow some 'everyday folk' to be on the same street as her?

The vist is an amazing one, and.. it had to be *her*, not Charles and Camilla, or.. one of her anaemic grandchildren.

Given the times we're going through over here, it is a visit that needs to be more 'populist', to round it off.

As it stands, it feels like a Bono-esque political circle jerk, which I think'll be what irritates the public the most, with hindsight.

The DM faithful are borderline loons and racists, you can't take them too seriously. I'm not saying that there aren't people like that here in the UK - there are, I've met a few of them but they are in a very vocal minority. Thankfully!

I suppose I should have known better.

But some right poisonous comments on the DM website and the odd reasonable and insightful comment too

    I won't be back!
And I'm kind of sad there is so much hate out there

Is there any need to keep talking about it ?

what more is there to say.

Unfortunately some feel the need to say it over and over and over.

Was told on the phone that the post maybe delayed cos of the visit, as one of the main sorting depots for the city is down at James Gate and there is restrictions on traffic there could be several 'working' days delay on post.

I've definitely not been keeping up to date with travel news

I enjoy a nice walk down by the Liffey near Chapelizod or Islandbridge and the War Memorial Gardens are beautiful.
There is a pathway right by the Liffey

Day off today and day dreaming with my ipod, turned the corner and got stopped by two soldiers.
Nice guys, just pointed out the restrictions, they're just doing their job.
And I need to stop daydreaming as I walk!

They have a tent and vehicles setup further along

I'd love a go driving one of the trucks! :D

Breaking News there on the radio about the sealing up of the sewage access points and manholes, apparently it done in error and was just intended as a joke and some took it literately. Enda Kenny it seems was in the Leinster House bar and announcedthat the Queen had accepted the invention of a visit and David Norris said:

"Well, as we say in The George boys: best cover your manholes when a queen's coming
    ".

Wow, just reading the itinerary for the Queen's visit, and I am embarrassed to admit that I have only been to Government buildings, Croke Park and Dublin Castle. Some Irish man I am! I must go to the Guinness brewery this summer.

Apparently Her Majesty is the guest at a State dinner in Dublin Castle, does anybody know the guestlist?

I was afraid to put my refuse in a public bin this morning in case the jack-boots swarming around town felt the need to search me.
