Nodin - I did read it and it makes some good points. However does that give Palestines the right to claim they are Muslim, but they are decendants from the jews so they have to right to occup Israel.

i mean in fairness, israel is a democratic gem of the middle east. I have visited the country twice myself. Why do people hate them so much?

People don't hate the average Israeli, but the Israeli government is really showing themselves in a bad light with regards to their handling of the Palestinian situation, alot of the western media are picking up on it now, and I think alot of western leaders are seeing the Israel as a bit of a liability at this stage.

It just sickens me that the Jews carry out such atrocities and show so little regard for life.

    That's all.

    Carry on.

Its been pointed out to you that members of the IDF come from more than the Jewish faith. If you want to seek a justification for your prejudice, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

    :pac::pac::pac::pac::pac::pac:

Go back over the posts, I never said that, you have qouted two different posters there. Actually I wouldn't be suprised if you waited a while untill you thought I was gone so you could get the last dig in:pac:

And yes I qouted your idiotic post, just so people can see the type of bigot they're dealing with it, I doubt many will take you seriously now.

Go on - post another smiley. It gives your posts so much more weight and credibility. Again you resort to ad hominem. Do you even understand what that is? I can almost hear you tapping it into the google search bar right now.

That particular post was a parody, many similar threads were made at the time. Why do you feel the need to search through all my past posts anyway? I feel violated as a woman. You just seem stalkerish now.

It's funny in a way.. 2 states, with a combined age of 75 years, fighting over stuff that never even happened 4000 years ago

I don't speak Latin, so yes I googled it:

ranslated from Latin to English, "Ad Hominem" means "against the man" or "against the person."
An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. Typically, this fallacy involves two steps. First, an attack against the character of person making the claim, her circumstances, or her actions is made (or the character, circumstances, or actions of the person reporting the claim). Second, this attack is taken to be evidence against the claim or argument the person in question is making (or presenting). This type of "argument" has the following form:

    1. Person A makes claim X.
    2. Person B makes an attack on person A.
    3. Therefore A's claim is false.

The Aboriginals were there before the Australians , .....

The Red Indians were there before the yanks .........

Do they have a right to ethnic cleansing ?

And should I turn Jewish tomorrow , would I have the god-given right to push a Palestinian off his lot and set up my own stall ?

It's very hard to not to side with Israel on this particular occasion. Protestors began the clash at the Israeli border, and Israeli soldiers shot back in retaliation in defence of their border. There has been tension building for the past few weeks, with many calls on social networking sites for these particular protests to take place, and many attended with violence in mind. The not too distant past shows that Israel would not take kindly to this and they didn't.

Do people complain and moan when Americans shoot dead Mexicans who try to illegally cross their border? I fail to see a thread about this matter on After Hours or it being reported as breaking news in the media. The media jumped on this story today, as blaming and accusing Israel is what they are good at.

I'm in no way saying this is how I feel about all the actions of Israel, I don't condone much of their past. However, I believe a bit of neutrality is needed as well to properly judge what happened today. This led me to supporting Israel on this particular matter.

Sorry Im not having that. Ramallah is NOT the Israeli border. It is Palestinian territory. The IDF have absolutely NO right to be there.

Please know your geography before you pontificate...

The Palestinians have every right to protest. If I was forced from my home and made to live in a slum crammed in with hundreds of thousands of my fellow countrymen I would be protesting too, as anyone would.

    Israel are the real terrorists.

    Long live PALESTINE!!

It's the Jews who were there first? You mean the middle east has only been populated for 3,000 years? So we should hand over Ireland to neolithic farmers? The arabs have been there continuously for a very long time, were occupied by some of the world's most powerful empires only to be ethnically cleansed by Zionist Europeans in 1948. Can't you see why some people, particularly Palestinians, might have a wee bit of a problem with that?

What beliefs did the ancestors of the Jews have before Judaism was invented? It really puts the whole "God promised us this land, honest, it says so in a book" routine into perspective.

We're all Irish. Why do so many self-professed pinkos get upset about another nation's affairs? It doesn't concern you.

How many children were shot dead in Mexico City today? You don't care because you can't exploit their deaths to promote your agenda.

"Agenda"? Only the agenda of opposing the strong utterly trampling and sh!tting on the weak because they can, and nobody doing a damn thing about it.

It might have something to do with the routine murder of civilians, illegally occupation of territories that do not belong to them, and the routine veto's by the US that enables them to get away with their routine bullshít.

Ah, the classic cop-out. Again I repeat - you don't care about the hundreds dying from state sponsored violence in Libya, Syria, Qatar etc because it doesn't fit with your lefty agenda. But anytime a Palestinian dies you're quick to denounce the whole nation of Israel as scum and evil. Why is Israel so special? Surely you can understand why this lends itself to cries of anti-semitism.

I wish the Irish would mind their own business. They were happy to stay silent during the Holocaust. And also when their Irish brethren were being denied their human rights in Northern Ireland in the 1960s, leaving a vaccuum for terrorist groups like the IRA to form to come to their defence instead.

Where did I say the Israeli's were scum, evil? Anti-semitism? please.

This is sensationalst rubbish, read over my posts.

And earlier in a thread you said "we're all Irish" now it's "I wish the Irish would mind their own business"

So where are you from then?

I'm sure you would. I'm sure you'd like entire planet to stay out of Israeli affairs and let them away with their mass murder of civilians, and illegal occupation of Palestine.

I'd be happy to see the day that Israel sticks to it's borders, and respects human life. I'd be happy to call it friend. But until that day happens, the entire planet will have nothing but utter contempt for Israel, and justifiably so.

    'Palestinians to blame' in 5, 4, 3, 2, .....

I think the official line this time is to blame Iran:
Israeli forces open fire at Palestinian protesters

    --SNIP--
"We are seeing here an Iranian provocation, on both the Syrian and the Lebanese frontiers, to try to exploit the Nakba day commemorations," Gen Mordechai said.
    --SNIP--

This is a real sad mess, and not all that different to murder of protesters by other despots in the ME, and North Africa.

Fair point. But why don't you ever criticise any Arab countries that slaughter civilians? An Israel bashing thread turns up and you're all over it like a rash. Are you aware of the current events in Libya?

Nice generalisation there. I think you'll fins that Israel has supporters all across the world.

I quite agree. We should cease all trade and diplomatic relations with Israel entirely. We should also more vigorously pursue breaches by Israel of Irish law, to ensure that nobody can accuse us of bias. Following that, we should forget immediately the number of Irish who died fighting in the last war despite it being of little direct concern to them, and then forget the implicit support the Jewish people have received from the country notable particularly in its constitution.

Can anyone give me proper justification why Israel continues to illegally settle on what is considered occupied territory?

If people are continually being shat on, how can you expect anything other than violence?

I take it you posted criticism on those topics then? Right? Be a bit hypocritical to complain about others not posting criticism on those topics (btw I am pretty sure the people you claimed didn't post on those topics probably did). Any chance on posting to a link, where you posted criticism on this forum on Libya for example (or Bahrain or Syria), seeing as you are intent on your whataboutry line of thinking. Surely, you must have done so, otherwise, you would be guilty of the thing you are accusing others of.

I can think of a situation MUCH closer to home that is somewhat similar. Yet those doing the fighting in that case are commonly regarded as "terrorists"

And why are the Palestines sending their kids into battle?? For PR purposes to make Israel look like similar savages to themselves?
In fairness, it is a desperate measure and one i hope to never have to take. I suppose they figure their children have no hope for the future at all and therefore must be trained to fight. Might as well go down fighting eh?
What is going on there is subhuman and everybody else is just standing idly by, much like they stand idly by as a kid gets bullied. The propaganda machine does its job and we go back to our lives like nothings happening.
We all have a part to play in this, shame on us.
