    Hi All,

I know that there is similar posts to this and i have gone through alot of them, but I am still none the wiser.

I am considering getting a bike on the BTW Scheme and having never owned a road bike I am looking for some advice. I am considering spending up to max €1100 on it and would appreciate some recommendations.

Also as i am a novice, why should i go with certain specs? It would generally be for commutes to work and longer cycles on the weekend.

Haveing thrawled through some of the previous posts, I am considering the following
    http://www.canyon.com/_en/roadbikes/bike.html?b=2105

Could anyone make any other recommendations? And does anyone know where to get Canyon bikes in Ireland (preferably Dublin)

Thanks for any feedback and I apologies for similar post.

If you'd read the earlier posts, you'd know that Canyon are internet only (it's mentioned on most of the posts recommending them), and that it and Planet X are the reference bikes suggested here for that sort of budget on price/performance grounds.

All your other questions are answered many times over in other 'what bike' threads

I was in your position last month and went with the Ridley Eos, which I've been very happy with.

The Canyon is very nice but, as Tiny mentioned, can only be bought directly from them either through their website or over the phone.

If your employer uses a third party to administer the BTW scheme then it is unlikely that you'd be able to get a Canyon. If your employer does not, you'll need to supply Canyon with your company VAT no. Canyon will then send your company an invoice with the German VAT (19%, I think) excluded. This should be the same for other foreign purchase through the BTW scheme.
