eircom direct debit

    Is there any discount for paying eircom by direct debit?!

    No. But it saves me time, hassle, and bank transaction charges.

    But Srameen, surely you have to pay charges to set up a standing order/direct debit and each debit is subject to a small charge each time. That's the way it used to be, correct me if I'm wrong...

    Whatever about discount , there are charges if the DD fails .

    Your bank will charge you around € 12 and Eircom will add on around € 18 .

    Depending on your bank, regular day to day transactions (incl. direct debits) are generally free. You generally only run into charges if the DD bounces.

    I hate Direct Debits. At least now you can cancel them with just a phone call.

    No. There is no cost to me on having a Direct Debit. I have loads of them operating. You may be thinking of a Standing Order.

    Yes, that helps.:rolleyes:

    DDs are excellent and I have been trouble free with them for 30 years (Eircom, ESB, club memberships, TV licence, etc etc)
