Good spot at Dublin airport to watch?

I've half considered going to Dublin airport sometime to watch planes take off and land. By going to the airport I meant parking along some road on the perimeter of the airport and watching from there but I'm not sure where is good to go. I thought I heard there was some dodgy spot up around the airport on one of those side roads that's best to avoid?

I was thinking I'd like to go watch some planes take off and land, preferably 747's but I don't know if any regularly land in Dublin. Anyone suggest a good spot for a newbie to go watch?

    Thanks!

This thread is a great resource for those unfamiliar with Dublin Airport.

There is an obvious spot along the edge of runway 28/10. There's always someone parked there, in fact it often gets crowded. It's easy to find, just turn off the Swords Road onto the Old Airport Road at the southern edge of the airport. It's just a short distance up that road. If they're landing and taking off runway 10 there's a similar spot further up.

You won't see many 747s though. Very few fly in an out these days.
