Using USIT to get Paid Teaching Post

Does anyone here have experience going through USIT to get a teaching position? I only have 5 months free to do this and this proved to be a problem when I contacted Tiger English re: teaching in Korea. USIT are a little more positive when it comes to my chances of getting a placement. I have a degree and a TEFL. They're recommending Thailand to me as a destination, which is fine aside from the pay being significantly less than other placements. I'd have to work 2 months just to pay for the USIT fee...

Is there any other way of going about getting a teaching placement abroad for a shorter period like this?

have a look at dave's esl cafe and tefl.com. I wouldn't pay to get placed somewhere - especially if you already have qualifications.

    Hi there,

I agree with the above poster. I went through Usit to get a job, set up in Thailand etc. Wish I hadn't! Money down the drain. Very unprofessional from start to finish. To this day I don't know what I paid for.

There are so many teaching jobs available from full time in a school to part time corporate classes.

I ended up contacting a really good agency over here myself and securing a well paid teaching job.

If you have a degree and Tefl you'll be laughing. Most places prefer you to have a tefl or similiar cert.

Pm me if you want details of tje agency I used or good job websites over here.

    Good luck
