If I buy 2 single tickets online, using a CC, will I need to bring the CC to get hold of them at the station? Or do I receive them by some other means?

    Cheers

If you purchase them early enough you can have them sent via post. Otherwise you can collect at a ticket machine using the reservation number supplied by Irish Rail in your purchase confirmation email.

    Hope that helps :)

...and in fact last time I did this I got a message saying that collecting your tickets via swiping your credit card is being phased out and you MUST bring your reservation number to the station.

When ever I have bought tickets online with Irish Rail I just bring my card along and swipe it at the collection point, but on the screen it says enter your Credit/Debit Card or your reservation number, so if you just bring that along you'll be fine.

I don't think they do post them any more at all? Recently I booked two a month in advance and there was no post option available - just collection at teh station.

    Cheers folks, that's perfect.

I'll be collecting them, but booking on someone elses' card. So I'll use the code.

you can pick them up at any station you specify beforehand. i picked up my galway tickets in dalkey where i usually get the dart, might save a bit of time picking them up in a less busy station.

Why are they doing this?? Part of the point of online sales is to eliminate booking office staff time!

You can still collect from the machines it is just instead of swiping your card you must enter your reservation number on the touchscreen of the machine. It is for security reasons.
