No such thing as an "ulster" fry. It's an English fry because you belong to them.

Ok. Its just its two different breakfasts though.

if it once belonged to a pig, was fried along with an egg and a few beans then it's an Irish breakfast, I don't care what else is with it (though black pudding is good)...it's an Irish breakfast

I had one last year up at a wedding and that fried bread stuff doesn't go well with 12 pints of stout.

Sure why isn't the black pudding in an irish fry not made out of the blood of british people?

Boxty! You must be some kind of exotic strange international foreigner!

Ulster is a province, not a country. What the hell happened to the education system?

Fadge is a real word in case anybody's wondering.

Fadge is an excellent word. Somewhere between fanny and vag I assume. I'm quite partial to a bit of fadge for breakfast myself. As long as it's fresh.

English frys dont come from Soda/Tattie bread. Ulster Frys do.

And for the zillionouth time on Boards. N Ireland is not part of England.

"Boxty on the griddle, boxty on the pan if ya can't make boxty you'll never get a man"

It's popular in Leitrim, Cavan Longford type area and is a spud based food. flour, salt, raw spud mashed spuds. I think thats it. A bit of milk if you are that way inclined.

It's in all the shops down here. Could never get it in Dublin and the Jackeens hadn't a clue what i was talking about.:D

The name of this country is Ireland, not the Republic of Ireland. Look at your passport. ROI is an official description but not the official name.

I remember that 15 million page thread too.

It's mad how a simple question about fried tomatoes can quickly change.

I was going to do a review on that movie 'fried green tomatoes' but I don't want to start another sectarian hate campaign.
