Able to see the carcass in a gloss kitchen

    Hi

    We are currently in the process of getting our kitchen fitted. We are having a ivory gloss kitchen, but i was looking at it over the weekend, and in places I can see the carcass, for example where the doors don't cover it all, and I don't think I should be able to see it. Just wondering if anyone else has had a gloss kitchen and if you have had similiar probs. Surely if I had a dark timber kitchen i won't be able to see it, it looks like the carcass has had gloss sheets attached to it. I am just wondering if anyone knows what way a gloss kitchen should be fitted. The kitchen guy is back tomorrow so i want to say it to him before he goes any further. Thanks

    How did your kitchen end up? Are you happy with it now? I have the same issue with my gloss kitchen (plus a lot more probs) including the carcas being of a slightly different colour in some areas.

    there isn't a lot I can do i'm afraid its no that noticabel if im honest, its just i know its there, the main place you can see it between the intergrated oven and microwave. He said all the gloss kitchens he has ever done are like that. The carcass is the same colour but its matt and you can see the joint, but i'm sure after a while i won't see it and no one else has noticed it so i'll get over it i'm sure

    You can get rolls of carcase stripping in gloss if its that annoying. Iron on stuff or glue on stuff. Just make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing to put it on. Personally id leave it as youll get over it eventually, buy hey! each to thier own:D

    I know the crew that were pricing my highgloss kitchen did state , taht the carcass would be camouflaged to same colour as doors, i assume with the strip above.

    As a qualified cabinet maker, I too find this very annoying. I wouldn't like it myself. I have seen it in a few kitchens, none that I done, but to me it looks terrible.
