    Why thank you, sir.

However, as you pointed out in http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=58356120&postcount=260, you believe homosexuality a sin, so it's nice to see you wanting to hold my good hairy male self and embracing your true sexuality.

    Well done :) x x x

    Hi all,

I am looking for some advice, I am thinking about becoming a priest and joining the seminary in maynooth this september.

I am not a holy joe  But I am a good human in general.

I am in my 20's, I have had girl freinds, gone to college, got very drunk to many times, etc you get the picture. I'm trying to say I'm a normal next door lad.

I dont go to mass very often (Just out of laziness), but I feel like God is calling me to become a priest and teach the teaching's of christ to others.

I like working with people, helping people and serving people and I volunteer for local events in my spare time.

I have emailed the local vocation's director and spoke to him on the phone last year but that is as far as I went. (The idea of joining the priest hood as been nagging me at the back of my mind for many years, but, in this day and age it is very hard to speak to anyone about it).

I even doubted my faith last year, I watched Zeitgeist and other anti-religion documentry's but they just didnt do it for me.

I do believe a man called Jesus Christ walked this earth !

So, anyways, should I do it ? what advice can you give me ?

    Thank you and God bless

Two hands working accomplish more than a thousand hands clasped in prayer. You wanna help people? Study and become a nurse or join the Peace Corps.

That's a bit blunt isn't it? Local church ministry benefits people in the community, that is even if you happen to believe that it is based on twaddle.

You quoted the wrong person. Now both of you put a sock in it or take it to PMs.

Hmmm... I tried that and got an error stating BB signatures are not allowed. How did you do it?

Take a look at the atheists. What do they have? Coldness, hardness of heart, cynicism, indifference, mocking scorn. Look at the poster children of atheism, and you will see many of them ended their lives in despair. Compare that to the glorious lives of the saints.

This is your usual tedious guff, despite many atheists pointing out to you recently that they are living terrific joy filled lives. I'd rather be a happy atheist than an out and out liar any day.

If what I say is meaningless guff, why seek out my post so as to reply to it? Why seek to insult me by calling me a liar? Not that I mind much, but even so.

I said tedious not meaningless and why should I allow you lie? It's hardly an insult if that is what you are engaging in. Of course you don't mind, you're quite blatant.

You say that atheists are cold and have a hard heart; that they're cynical, indifferent and scornful. But, not only that, many are destined to end their lives in despair--by that I'm not sure if you mean they're likely to commit suicide, or just live out their hollow, empty lives until the end when they finally die, in despair.

I believe that most all of the above is complete and utter nonsense, and the lies that fatmammycat is referring to.

    It's more than a well-founded generalisation.

That's what happens when a Catholic steps into the atheist forum.

No, it's not. It's just a highly cynical personal viewpoint. I could ask you to back up your claims with statistics (say, the religiosity of a nation vs. its suicide rate, but you'd find that, on average, it would be contra to your own opinion). You continuously express extremely disdainful views of atheists, saying that they're prone (even bound) to become alcoholic, drug addict, parents of out-of-wedlock children who are almost destined to commit suicide is despair. What evidence do you cite for this view? Nothing, only your own cynical outlook on life.

But, it doesn't bother me. I just find it extremely ironic; I mean, you could hardly call a person who holds such an position a Christian, let alone a good Christian.

Edit: hinault: I'm just a moderator in the forums listed underneath my username. In every other forum I'm just a regular user, like you.

Mods : can you attend to this?

This thread is now attracting the usual crew of trolls/clowns.

Probably best to lock the thread at this point.
