syfy US better than syfy UK?

    can anyone tell me why syfy us show better things than syfy uk.syfy US always seem to have better movies compared to what we have to watch here on syfy uk.

    some syfy us shows:

    star trek the next generation
    star trek enterprise
    stargate sg 1
    stargate atlantis
    stargate universe
    tales from the darkside
    twilight zone
    friday the 13th series
    dead like me
    early edition
    scare tactics
    doctor who
    masters of horror

    some syfy uk shows:

    buffy
    smallville
    angel
    v
    a town called eureka
    third rock from the sun
    bamma
    fact or faked
    fact checkers unit
    some of the syfy UK shows are also on syfy US.i love the shows on syfy UK,but in the US they do get better shows i think.

    total recall
    ginger snaps
    saw
    terminator
    star trek movies
    children of the corn
    dawn of the dead
    the stand
    halloween movies


    some syfy uk movies:

    behemoth
    goblin
    high plains invaders
    malibu shark attack
    mammoth
    sand serpents
    meteor storm
    yeti
    mega piranha


    you can see every syfy uk movie on syfy us,but on syfy uk you wont see the good movies shown on syfy us.

    i think it is unfair that syfy us get lots of quality movies compared to the ones we get on syfy uk.

    i love the shows on syfy uk but i think we should have some of the shows they get on syfy US aswell,theyre great,loved shows that you can always watch

    Other channels have the rights to the movies/TV shows that you mention over this side of the Atlantic. The markets are completely different, so are the various contracts. SyFy produced/made stuff would likely be the same, but anything bought in by SyFy US would need to be bought separately by SyFy UK, and other channels may simply be out bidding them.

    I think 99% of the movies shown on SyFy UK are appalling, turkeys all of 'em, and I understand from the WWW, that the ones shown in the US aren't any better.

    The one thing I can't stand about Syfy (apart from the retarded name change) is the ridiculously long ad breaks every 15 minutes. They go on forever which makes me automatically switch. Also was quite annoyed when they showed Buffy up to season six, then rejigged it back to season 4, obviously they haven't bought season 7 yet.

    I know Stargate Universe wasn't as good as its predecessors, but SyFy pulled the plug on it despite it being better than the rest of the crap on their schedule. They've some strange people responsible for decision-making on that channel.
