I was passing by the airport today and noticed that there was a Garda check point at the exit and entrace of the airport. Every car was being stopped both entering and exiting the airport. Only got a brief glimpse.

Does anyone know what was going on.

It looked like some sort of warm up for Lizzie's visit. A shower of rain arrived and the checkpoints disappeared.

Yeah. Working on Fr. Mathew Quay and heard lots of helicopters today. Reckon it's definitely preparations for the royal visit. Have noticed on many previous occasions though that any sort of checkpoint disappears when the rain comes. God forbid that they should get wet. :P

There was a Garda/Customs checkpoint on Water St. today. They had a couple of UK reg'd cars pulled over when I passed.
