Lecturer losing students assignments...

What is the standard procedure for dealing with this? I'm not going to name names or anything but currently 5 people and counting (including myself) have received emails from this particular lecturer telling us he does not have our assignment and could we send him a copy asap. We all handed up our assignment in hard copy to him on the same day, but of course this guy isn't going to admit any wrong doing at all.

Now I have no problem with lecturers making honest mistakes from time to time, but this isn't exactly a rare occurence with this particular lecturer. I'm in a bit of a awkward situation myself because my own copy of the finished draft of my assignment is on the servers in DCU, and I'd imagine I'm not alone with this problem either. Should I even bother trying to sort it out some other way or will I just go to Dublin, send it again and forget about it?

send him an email. Say you are away from Dublin until college starts again, and that he will get the replacement assignment then.

not sure what department you're in..

For engineering you used to be able to access the server files from off campus..

Worth giving computer service (Is that what they're known as? They are around the restaurant) a call.. you might get lucky without having to travel to DCU

    good luck

If the assignment is listed in your course document that you get at the start of the module it usually states what the penalty. Otherwise (as above) its the lecturers discretion. Usually 15-20% reduction from final mark
