Buying an iPad2 in Singapore

Have a friend heading to Singapore and was wondering if they were to buy an iPad2 over there for me would there be any problems within it working here. Saw on the apple Singapore website a 32gb wifi iPad2 works out around €440 so would be worth getting but only if it would work here (e.g. will it sync correctly with Irish…

Yes it will work here no bother, there is absolutely no issue with the Wi-Fi models. You may have to buy an adapter to fit the mains plugs here but the chargers are multivoltage so a cheap adapter is the most you'll need to buy when you get it back home but you can also charge from the PC or Mac using the supplied USB cable.

See this post for what you'll probably need, you may already have an old mains cable from a VCR or similar which will fit the Apple charger.

iTunes doesn't care where the device was purchased, my first iTouch (G2) was bought in Canada, my current one (G4) was bought in the US, both sync with iTunes using my Irish Apple a/c no problem.

Singapore has same plugs and voltage as here so you'd have no need for additional adapters.
Surprised it's cheaper out there though - was in singapore last year and couldn't find any cheap electronics ( or cheap anything for that matter!)

Was only ever in the airport there, so can't comment on store prices, but I found electronics were cheap as chips in the duty free.
