Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm interested in joining a chess club on the northside.
I've taken a look at the websites of the 2 clubs which are nearest to me and judging by the pics and articles it seems as if most of the adult members are male. Just wondering if there are any female club members out there? :)
Im in my early twenties by the way.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I'm afraid that chess is one of the most male dominated sports out there. There are some women that play with clubs in Dublin but not many. If you'd like to find a club with a some other women playing then it could be worth sending an email to the Irish Chess Unions women's officer - contact details are here.

For what it's worth, chess is one of the great equalisers. I'd be a reasonable standard club player and have been beaten by men, women, even kids whose feet don't touch the floor when they're sitting down!
