Have a second hand vehicle with a Nokia CR28 fitted, its fully mounted onto the car with a Nokia Pop-Port for charging.

The bluetooth handsfree is fully functional, I just want to replace the mount and charging unit.

I want to replace the CR28 with an iPhone 4 holder and possibly convert the Pop-Port cable to an iPhone compatible charger.

I'd rather not be putting more holes in the car so is it possible to just take off the head of the CR28 and replace it with a iPhone 4 unit?

I have a TomTom iPhone 4 cradle, however I don't see how it can be adapted as it only has a suction mount.

    Any insight or advice appreciated.

Emm... How handy are you in DIY?

The cost of doing it would probably equate to a cheap and cheerful bluetooth model for the sunvisor etc.

As regards charging, you need 5V at 1amp. Which if I'm not mistaken isn't what Nokia's run on. The newer N Series and E series do (The one's you can charge from USB)

As regards voice, taking a call etc I think your on the wrong track. Car kits are chaulk and cheese, hence why bluetooth is so popular as you can just plug and play.

If you have the right voltage and the right current (or more) you could certainly charge it. As for using the microphone etc, I would have my doubts.
