I have a 15yr old girl who is MAD about fashion. I was wondering if anyone knows any courses (preferably on line as we are a bit away from the city) or anything similar that I can help her to start developing her interest.
    Thanks :)

My advice would be follow Blogs, designers, etsy all that sort of stuff. I hear collages are looking for some sort of proof of this when selecting students.

id only know of the third level education courses, but one thing i will say is if shes thinking of doing it in college tell her to start a scrapbook/notebook and fill it over time with looks, materials, colours, designers, collections she likes, pictures from magazines. like a mood board type thing but in a notebook. similar to a portfolio.

alot of them do expect students to have a keen interest in the industry as well- not just the obvious "mainstream" designers, but also up and coming designers and stuff like that. obviously this isnt always a must but if applying for a course with X amount of places it may be a deciding factor if she appears to have more of an interest than someone else.

these are two things ive heard from numerous people over the years in those type of courses.
