    North Korea? :pac:

People brought up in over-disciplined societies don't realise how much fun you can have when you're completely hammered and carrying a gun.

Maybe we should let ambulance drivers in Ireland have a pint or two as well... I mean it doesn't "impair judgement".

On a serious note, How would we feel if it were AGS ?
Would our answers be the same?
    Yes.
Hell - if Cowen can be pissed while on radio, it wouldn't be the first time In Ireland a worker has had a drink before working.

Not advocating that workers go on a pre-work bender.
Just acknowledging that sometimes, some do take a sip beforehand.

Two pints? That's 4 times as much as the bottle/glass of beer you'd have with your lunch on the continent, see how little we're talking?

I wouldn't feel safe among armed people who are intoxicated. In normal countries you're not even allowed to drive after a glass of wine so why the hell should armed police officers be allowed even one drink?
    which normal countries ?
here it's a lot more than a glass of wine

and no they aren't allowed to be intoxicated

holy hour, where pubs closed after lunch was supposedly started to get Irish civil servants back into the office , we have a drinking against the clock mentality that they don't seem to have on the continent , they do their drinking with meals , in small amounts across a whole day , here it's "I can drink X pints in a few hours and still stand"

    Welcome to France!

If your confronting these plods in an aggressive action, you deserve what you get anyway!
If your of a more peaceful nature - then walk the fcuk away. Its not rocket science for gawds sake!

With all your soapboxing all over this site I'm wondering how many protests you've been on so far. I'm also wondering how many had a Garda police presence because anyone who wasn't mates with them in the 70s will tell you what happens when they unleash the riot squad.

But sure whoever's there is probably deserving of being on the end of a drunk with a baton anyway.
