Tipping beauty salons for Citydeal offers?

    Hoping someone can advise on this one please :)

    I was just wondering what I should be giving as a tip when my series of treatments didn't cost the full price? The deal cost about €150 but was something like 80% off full price, there isn't a hope I could have afforded it otherwise! I was wondering what or how much I should give - a gift of some sort, a set amount of money, a percentage of the original cost, a percentage of what I paid, or something else? And should I give something on each visit or on the last one? As far as I know the same person will be carrying out each treatment, and she's not the salon owner.

    I was going to post in the consumer section but thought this was where the beauty salon regulars would be :)

    I'm clueless - any replies appreciated!

    You're not obliged to give anything - seriously you'e paid for the service! I would probably feel embarassed taking out my wallet to tip if I wasnt paying them at the time.

    If you really feel obliged maybe give a tenner in an envelope at the end?

    I never tip in a hairdresser or anywhere like that. The treatments tend to be quite expensive as it is.

    I always tip if I got a good service - regardless if they're the owner or an employee. If something cost 45 I just give 50 and tell them to keep the change. But its only if the service was good.

    If i go to a restaurant or a salon and i'm left waiting for ages or the experience is unpleasant, I dont tip.

    I think it would be odd to give a gift - people prefer cash ;)

    If I was very happy with the service I would tip afew euro, no need to give a tenner or anything

    With citydeal the salon or whoever is runing the deal only get 50% of the taking they have already discounted, its good for them for repeat business or whatever so I always tip but no your certainly not obliged plus it depends on how happy you were with the service regardsless how much you pay!
