St. Patrick's Ladies Home, Waterford. Any information?

Hi there,

Does anyone have any information about St. Patrick's Ladies Home, near St. Patrick's church in Waterford?

I am researching my dad's birth. He was born in 1941 in Waterford to a well-off unmarried mother. His birth cert says he was born in St. Patrick's House and I know he was baptised in St. Patrick's Church. I am wondering if this is the place of his birth.

Any information about this building, or other buildings called St. Patrick's, would be gratefully received!

Do you have an address for the home? forgive my ignorance but is it still there or has it been knocked?

St. Patricks church is still there its in the lane between Barronstrand st. and Jenkins lane. I'm not too sure about a ladies home though there is a large house next to it but I think that's where the Waterford genealogy is.

I'd say it's probably just alongside the church in the little laneway from the carpark at the back of Darrers (or McDonald's for the young folk!).

What are you actually looking to find out OP?
