What is you opinion of people doing nixers while on social welfare? I think this behaviour is truly appalling. They should be punished for it with a prison sentence of no less than 3 months. I for one don't look kindly upon SW fraud. What is your opinion?

I dont agree with it, but I wouldnt put people in prison for it....maybe they could work to pay back the money they scammed.....doing something to benefit their community for instance.

Unregistered work while claiming unemployment benefits or disability benefits. It could be cash in hand work at a restaurant, building site etc.

Yeah, how dare people try and make a bit of extra money when everything in this country is over-priced and the government does everything it can to tax all the money it can bleed out of the people. How dare these people try and get by. How dare they? HOW DARE THEY?!

    Mind your own business.

It becomes my business because tax payers pay for their SW. I find it unacceptable. I would have no problems reporting any neighbours doing this.

I am sick of dole/tax cheats draining our economy. The black economy is thriving in Ireland with alot of workers seen the dole as a way of topping up their wages to pre-recession levels. Companies operating legitamitly cannot compete with competitors who are not tax compliant. I know alot of tradespeople who are working sporadically however they justify not signing off on the days they are working as they will only be signing back on in the coming weeks. From May 1st I will be passing on info on 1 Dole cheat per day to the social welfare for the month of May. Our country will never recover if this fraud continues.

OP wants justice on the issue of some folks costing the state/tax-payer monies, OP's proposal is to imprison such folks, which will cost more.

There's a word for this kind of argument.

You could rationalise it like that if their primary source of income wasn't coming from the same government that only wants to "bleed all it can" out of them:rolleyes:

You find it unacceptable. That does not make it your business. Let the authorities take care of it. Look after your own affairs.

I'm a taxpayer, I pay VAT. I find that the scroungers and fraudsters deserve all my hard earned VAT paid tax. WITH INTEREST!

    Now, go away.

    So let me get this straight whiteonion;

You have great sympathy and passion to help all those living in poverty by criticising their governments and employers.

But if they try to make a few extra quid doing a one-off job on the side, they should be locked up?

    Dichotomy much?

What game are we playing with the dole? What are the rules? How do I know if I'm cheating? Or are you talking about the relationship I have with the dole? If so, we're in an open relationship, so it isn't cheating.

TBH, I've seen a few people on the State Benefits forum asking what "reward" they got for reporting fraud.

    How to cheat The Dole:

When you're in the queue to collect your €188 at the post office you must enter this code just as the person in front of you is about to walk away from the counter.

Up, Down, Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A, B*

If you done it right you should get infinite ammo. There's also a pipe behind the counter which allows you to level warp, too.

*To the pedantic nerds, yes I know it's not the Konami code, lighten up and stop trying to correct it.

This can be done in one day.Leaves the other 30 days for you to try and find a real job instead of continuing with stupid pursuits such as this.
