Well it's all based on reports from sources etc. I don't doubt that it's true, but I just meant that no offical announcements have been made yet so we can't know for sure.

What's he going to do? Just turn up and say hello like David Brents celebrity appearances.

I'd go, but think of all the traffic. I'll just watch the highlights on youtube instead.

Well - that, and the other tens of millions of privately owned firearms. It is after all one of the key intents of the 2nd amendment, in order to prevent any form of dictatorship from taking shape.

    Honest to god you're deluded.
Personally I've no issue with guns. I used to own one and hunting is a good way to get out and about but the idea that you're part of some militia and defending your country would be so funny if it weren't tragic.

Bit stupid we have to pay for the right to see some guy in a park. Luckily, my sniper rifle from Quake can hit him from 400 miles, so I'm safe. :)

Believe whatever you want. It's a bittersweet thing for me when I read about people getting mugged in Dublin that can't defend themselves, or protests that get shrugged off because the people in charge know you've got no teeth.

So Bush, starts slashing liberties in the name of security and they're lauding him, then, Obama rides into town with a healthcare bill and the toothless simpletons are out with their guns and calling for revolution.

yea you can see how well it's working!

If this was 1850 you may have a point but in 2011 that comment sounds ridiculous. If a handgun in the possession of people is the only way of preventing a dictatorship then that Country has far bigger issues to sort out.

Who ever said it was the only way?

Possibly, but I'd prefer that to one side putting down the other without a hope.

For the most part the process has been preserved though. The government has still continued to function. Now if the president dissolved the Congress and named himself King of the Free World or something, sure.

They're mugged/robbed with guns in Dublin too, the only difference is you're not allowed to fire back:

It's a bitersweet feeling for me each time I read a story of a gun attack in the USA. Every day it's the same story. Here's an article from 3 hours ago for example.

Investigators say the 15-year-old told them the shooting was an accident that occurred as he and Zeng were playing with the gun.

If this happens and i highly doubt it. It would be the most cringeworthy thing in the history of Ireland and we have had some seriously cringeworthy moments. I expect news in the coming weeks that Mr Obama was "desperate" to speak in Croke Park after hearing about all its history blah blah blah the usual GAA spun crap but secret service wouldnt allow it.

    How's your crime rate?

Also it seems that most people really don't realise just how many legally or formerly legally-held guns there are in Ireland.

Well sometimes he has used these huge international speeches to make foreign policy announcements, or he could make a speech about America's relationship with Europe. Possibly about the recession etc. Who knows. But I doubt they would put him in into a crowd of 80k people without having anything to say.

So muggings don't happen in America?

Tea Party protests don't go ignored?

I've agreed with you on a huge amount of things before. I'm quite surprised you're coming out with this stuff. I thought you were above it.

I think you have misunderstood Irish people.

Anything free and we'll be there making the most of it. I EVEN went to see Jason Byrne for free...

Its fantastic. If you commit a crime in America, you go to prison. In Ireland you have to commit about 20 crimes before you get a suspended sentence.

Yea, like the time they put a wheelchair bound guy in prison for having medical mj and let him die soaked in his own piss in the cell... yea fantastic.

Barrack Obama to appear in Croke Park...suddenly he is on the same level as the Virgin Mary showing up on a golf course in Knock.
