Setting up a live cam feed?

    I need to set up a live cam feed to a remote location that a family member can log into on her computer and view her pets. I am using vista at the moment, is this easy enough to do or is it a big learning curve.

    Any tips or links appreciated:)

    The easiest thing to do would be to setup a PC with skype or Teamviewer and they can either start a video chat, or log in remotely and turn on/off the webcam

    Skype may not be suitable as you need somebody to answer your call to initialise video chat. Mount your webcam wherever you want it (but bear in mind that bus-powered USB devices shouldn't be too far away from a computer without an intermediary power source), and link it with ustream: http://www.ustream.tv/

    Another good option is as Tallon said - access your desktop remotely and open your webcam stream. Should work fine really. Haven't done it on Vista but most modern operating systems make remote access quite simple.

    Didn't realise that! Definitely the easiest solution for people not au fait with computers then.
