Totally depends on your needs, for some the nano will be better and for others it'll be the clip+.

I love the new nano, it's a brilliant achievement by apple, unfortunately for me though my needs aren't catered for by apple - i'm in the minority there, but thankfully the clip+ (running rockbox firmware) has me covered.

I have a Rockbox'd (http://www.rockbox.org/) Clip and it means I can play anything.. .flac and .cue, .m4a (iTunes), anything at all.

If you're allergic to the sprawl that iTunes has become, then the Clip is for you, no worries about syncing data\audio on another laptop or PC, just drag and drop, both ways.

You can record from the radio, in lossy and lossless, .mp3 and .wav.

The clip is rugged, both physically and at an operating system level, just plug in and dump whatever you want access to, onto the device.

The Clip keeps the original firmware, if you want to boot into the original system, just press the main dial left while you power on, simple..

Both are nice devices, I've used both, but I'd lean towards the Clip. The Nano looks lovely, mind you ..but I'm not bothered by looks. I want something that sounds nice, which the Clip does, for its size.

Forgot to say, the Clip uses a bog standard Mini USB port.. you can pop into any Euro shop in Dublin or elsewhere and get yourself a set of USB adapters that will keep your Clip snug, inserted into a laptop or a USB wall plug.

    +1 for the clip plus.
It also has an SD card slot so as the size of micro sd increases so will your mp3 player. ;)
