Black Ops - Escalation. Next Map pack. 3rd May.

Who gives a damn if its snowy or not....

Its the layout and structure that is super important!!!


Granted some maps do look very dull... a fine mix of beige, brown and gray throughout but its the actual structure of the map that makes good or not... I prefer the CQC of stadium, summit and nuketown..

We need smaller, more intimate maps with perhaps a few levels, (cracked is the only map I can think of with 3 floors at any point).

And I suppose a bita color wouldnt go astray but does it reeeeally matter if its snowy.. :rolleyes:

I'm fed up with snow maps on black ops. The are 3/14 in the multiplayer and now 2/8 in the map packs so 5/22 overall. I love snow but christ the campaign covers WW2 to vietnam and not all those wars were fought in snow. There was sod all fighting in the cold war, it described the general frosty atmosphere between the participants, not the theatre of war.

Ade mentioned Eder Dam earlier but even though it's a class level from cod 3 it wouldn't work as the vehicles made that level. Driving across the broken bridge with the flag carrier in a sidecar with a gun car coming after you was epic fun. There was some epic fights to take and hold the bridge tunnel with snipers/trenchguns all taking turns at decimating teams. I don't think you could redo that level without vehicles, ziplines wouldn't cut it.

I'd prefer Rouen to be remade, it's a small pokey level with a 3 storey building in the middle of a main street, sandwiched by a line of 2 storey houses which overlook your spawn/objective and the main street. It has house to house fighting and open areas with good lines of sight. If they did it Vietnam style during daytime it would be a winner.

The cold part refers to frosty relations over the decades between the US and USSR, not the actual temperature :pac:

It's Seattle/Kirkland/Bellingham, not exactly the most interesting places in the world! But fcuk it, will just have a 2 week session the day I get back!

I'll only pay for it if it's WAW maps...

Again not that impressed with any of them, what's freekin wrong with small tight maps like firing range or nuketown, are they stupid that they don't see why Nuketown 24x7 is so popular when it comes up??? And it wouldn't cause them that much hassle to put some of the classic WAW maps in there

Almost every map in First Strike had some cheap, stupid gimmick which nobody used apart from on release day. They should concentrate on the quality of the maps. I mean, why the f*ck doesn't Zoo have animals? They just made it an "abandoned zoo" so that they could save money.

And why are the maps dull and grey again? I know its supposed to be set in the Cold War, but surely someone was in a good mood back then :P We need maps like Terminal and Nuketown.
