    a decent game engine...
    Not coded in JAVA...

Java is the bane of my life.

Im doing it in college at the moment and I wish it was never invented.

Just wish minecraft ran a bit smoother and i would be happy.

Its an ok language to start with but shouldn't be taught past 1st year college.

They should switch to a useful language like C/C++ or C# or something..

Such a resource hog and I can't play more than 30 minutes of Minecraft at a time as it crashes on me (black screen)..

And the server software.. feck its a hog. We have it running on out server at home, (for home minecraft - like single player except better :P).. Takes up over a GB RAM normally... More often than not the gui crashes aswell. and has to be restarted... Bah!

No idea why they still teach java in college. Should be vb.net all the way with the inclusion of other languages like C# or Java as optional modules.

We had java and prolog as compulsory modules for 3 years ffs...

Our server runs on Linux, more stable and less prone to crashing. A LOT less prone.

So I played the demo. Tis rubbish. It's got a very limited amount of blocks available, there's no mining, interaction, mods, animals, crafting etc. Took ages to build a house and even at that it looked a bit ****ty with the block textures they use. Ah well.

Don't forget the fact that indie games aren't available in Ireland.
