Oh and Tina Fey, Tina Fey, Tina Fey!

her and jo brand are the only female comedians i find funny...the others just seem to try too hard and don't come off as well. i think there is more funny male than female comedians.

men tend to be more filthy than women with jokes. women comedians seem to be too reserved for my liking

I think some women can be funny, but for some reason all women comedians are not just unfunny, but also annoying.

I think it's because they try too hard. Mostly. Or else they're just not funny.

I is a woman and I think all women comedians are ****e. I wish it wasn't that way but unfortunately it is.

As much of an equal opportunist as I am, this fact is in general, undeniable.

But, season one of Big Train. Julia Daves, Amelia Bulmore.

Lynn from Alan Partridge. Sweet Dee from always sunny in Philadelphia. Lindsay Bluth Fünke (Portia de Rossi) from Arrested development...

    ect...

I've seen one blonde female comic on mock the week that was good. Dunno her name though.

Then again there was an asian woman and another black woman comedian on the bbc a few times lately, both I felt were terrible.

Has to be Gina Yashere, she is dire.

Yes, some side characters, generally ones who deliver dead-pan lines, can be absolutely brilliant. I don't think female comedians (ie stand up or trying to carry a show alone) are funny at all

I should clarify, I think a lot of women are very funny it's just that stand-up is not the place where most women's brand of funniness shines

Dawn French can be really good, she was great in Vicar of Dibley although that was not stand up.

Ive never seen her stand up.

Jennifer Saunders - hilarious comic actress. Can't remember much about her stand-up which I guess is telling.

She is one of the worst I've seen. Loud mouthed but not in a good way.

See this is the main problem. Women stand ups(in my experience) seem to think they can only play on periods/bad husbands/gender divides/self-degradation type humour, as opposed to purely observational humour which most male stand-ups use. Once the taboos about making jokes about those things were broken it wasn't funny (if it ever was).
