April Fools Day

When I was a kid, I ran into older sisters room, woke her up saying "wake up, wake up! the priest is after ringing the house looking for you!"
I then told her to get up as hes on the phone waiting to talk to her (house phones back in the day)
"I think he wants ya to serve today's mass!" I say with a smile.
"WHAT?!" says she.
"Yeah, hurry on, hes on the phone waiting to talk to you!"
As she picks up the receiver (of the phone) her eyes roll to the ceiling as she says "Hello Father.."
I point and laugh and shout "April fool's!":pac:

Twas quite the victory for the 10 year old.
Oh how she walloped me...

My mother gave my grandmother the number of the mental hospital in Cork and told her that Mr Looney rang looking for her and she was to call him back. :pac:

I have an exam tomorrow:p I hope they are not fooling me, because I feel like I have spent a year studying for it and given up my life:( Other than that, April Fools is not going to be a fun day for me this year:o Holding out hope for 2012:D

Okay...I saw this post and I noticed the amount of thanks it received. And then I read it....but, for the life of me, I cannot get what the feck is going on. Maybe it's the alcohol, maybe it's the tiredness, but what the feck is going on with that post?

I remember one April 1st, my mother asked me to get her the lotto numbers on Aertel as she always did. I had sneakily seen her lotto slip before hand and basically just gave her a piece of paper with 6 numbers on it which were an exact match. The roaring and shouting that came from the kitchen that night was immense. Oh how she laughed when I explained it was a prank.......and then she cried......for days.

I realize now as an adult, it was a hurtful prank.
