eeek! the stone is loose in my less than 3-week old ring, we bought it and got it resized and polished up a couple of days later, so should I be worried that it's a bit loose already? I've been so so careful with it so far and haven't done anything clumsy etc :( It's a small solitaire.

Same thing happened to me about 9 months after we got my ring, got it checked was told over time all diamonds loosen! 3 months after that it fell out. Get it checked

This is my worst fear at the moment, I got my ring 2 weeks ago and I'm so paranoid about the diamond falling out. It doesn't seem loose though.

Go back to where you got it resized, sometimes when you resize a ring it pulls one of the claws holding the diamonds in, making them a bit loose. They should have checked this before handing it back, it happened to me, I only found out when I noticed a diamond was missing, thankfully I found it in the house, got it reset and it hasn't happened again in 6 months.

brought it in to the jeweller yesterday, that's exactly what happened! Apparently the diamond was never gonna fall out cos it wasnt *that* loose, but it scared me. Getting it back later, yaay, I've missed my little ring :)

I had to get a stone in mine fixed last week. Apparantly its very common and should be checked regularly. The jeweller did it for free as I get my rings plated there. She said that when they make white gold rings in their workshop they always make the settings from platinum as its much stronger. Something to think about if ever buying again!
