You might want to tell that to himnextdoor.
Deuteronomy 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.

So when God says 'and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods?...' he actually meant 'and that thou enquire after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods?...'?

Contextually, I think that God wanted to obliterate all traces of other forms of worship; not only physically but from memory too. To 'enquire after their gods' might possibly breathe new life into old ways and a jealous God will not tolerate that. He said so.

In other words, God was saying 'Do not give any thought at all to desposed gods. Let them be forgotten, forever.'

What makes you think that this no longer applies?

then isn't it logical to asume he would make it seem from a scientific point of view he doesn't exist

Yes, it is. But eventually, science will find Him.

You see, what is actually happening is that God is 'auditioning' us; he wants to build an army for the big battle at the end of days and he needs independent-minded people to command the troops.

In order to select the grunts who would make up the majority of His army, He was going to use a direct approach by saying, 'hands up if you are gullible' but realised of course that most gullible people would not admit to being gullible.

So, He decided to use religion to seperate the wheat from the chaff, the skeptical good from the faithful good. The faithful good make up the majority of His army and the skeptics who relied on science to prove His existence are chosen to be the generals who will command the gullible faithful good to victory.

    God is indeed wise.

The all powerful and ever-loving God needs to build an army for a WAR?

    (p.s. I know the post is tongue-in-cheek)
