There is nothing Michael Martin can say or do that will make up for the pain for multiple generations his party has done onto ireland, thanks to the corrupt and sinsiter anctics and culture of fianna fail, we are the joke of generations to come , to our future, our nation and to our european counterparts

I don't laugh, because it's one representative of crookedness, corruption and hypocrisy, berating another group for the same thing, and it makes you realise that all they're actually interested in is mud-slinging for personal gain and glory. One scandal after another, one excuse after another. I'm not sure if any of them in the Dáil are trustworthy at all and it's saddening.

It's like Kelloggs corn flakes vs. Tesco own brand corn flakes. One promises to deliver and then the other promises to deliver but at a lower cost to you. And when it comes down to it, they're both fúcking corn flakes, just repackaged and presented to you in a different way.

I laugh. Martin heads up the party that screwed this country. It's hard to take his opinions seriously.

Nah, I dont laugh, it is rather pitiful to see one band of corrupt politicans calling out on another band.

The tribunal report has some pretty daming things to say about certain members of the Dail.

Lets see how he acts when all the other tribunal reports come out.

Yeah, from the man making such a big deal about putting petty party politics (Jesus, very alliterative) behind us, it's a (not) surprising turnaround. Probably couldn't have had a more damaging reaction if he started throwing his own faecal matter at Enda. Not that FG don't have questions to answer, but FF are hardly in a credible position to put them to task over backhanders and corruption of all things.

It's not really hilarious, since it's not like Martin hasn't got some agenda by acting the slighted maiden about it all. It's not a very good agenda, trying to be seen to take the moral highground about fourteen seconds after the party got wiped for being underhanded, ruinous b*stards. Apparently FF are having a moment of collective amnesia.

Did kind of find Lowry hilarious with his A4 pad of 'It wasn't me miss, ask all my friends, they'll vouch for me'. The weasel.

Some good points covered by posters already:

    * He "pot calling kettle black" - not big time but MASSIVELY fcukin' huge!
    * He and his party having "collective amnesia" - on purpose of course.

If the man was being held hostage with a gun to his head, I'd tell the gunman to pull the trigger!
The crap that he has come out with since his election (and during it) as leader is farcical. Every time he had/has been called to question about decades of his antics and his organisations antics, he just comes out with "I don't accept your view" and then goes off on a rant about what he sees as the way forwards under the leadership of Fianna Fail.
Well its no secret that I think he can shove his Fianna Fail up his ass along with the other schite he's daily hoping to brainwash us with. with I might add, an effort to try make us have short memories. Well I ain't forgetting for the rest of my life! Fcuk you Martin!

As the saying goes "I wouldn't piss on him, if he was on fire".

The thing I find more laughable is the tendancy of people to jump at FF and point out their mistakes when the topic at hand is a FG case.

I dont care about Michael Martin right now, Lowry needs to be kicked out of the Dail.
FF f**king around is a topic for another day.

N0 - its not. As we have seen previously, give FF an inch and they will not take a mile, they will take the country!
FF is a topic that is burned into history and we should be daily learning from its lesson.

Michael Martin and his posturing doesn't make me laugh. It makes me angry.

It proves that he has learned nothing from the electoral wipeout of his party.
He thinks that spin and smoke and mirrors will make the electorate forget.

I'd have (slightly) more respect for him if he delivered the grovelling apology that the Irish people deserve.......... and are unlikely to ever hear!

So what, the fact that FF caused a mess is justification to ignore the corruption of Lowry?

Why weren't we saying the same about FG when they were accusing FF of dodgy dealings?
The moriarty tribunal was an investigation into a major case of corruption in their last government.

I dont care who it is saying it, no instances of curruption in government should be ignored.
FG were justified to declare their outrage at the dealings of FF, FF are justified to declare outrafe at the dealings of Michael Lowry.

I dont care if an axe murderer accuses someone else of being a murderer, if the second guy has murdered someone the first guy still has a point even if he was guilty of the same crime.

I don't see anyone ignoring the corruption of Lowry. The press alone over the next few months will ensure that - but in that wake, lets not forget the much bigger shower.
You have a point about one calling out the other.
However I would say that where there is a small number of rotten apples within one org' (let be honest, every org will have them), whereas in the other, the rottenness is systemic and has gone from generation to generation - in fact it seems to be part of their mode of their party operations.

The FF whipping was always going to happen and it's their performance at the next general election that will tell us a lot more about their long term future as a political force in this nature.

Michael Martin is a sneer, he goes around with the big Gary Lineker head on him, this just makes everything he says that bit more annoying and less credible.

The people of Tipperary are really to blame here aren't they? They keep voting this guy in.

Although after listening to Lowry yesterday I do feel that 14 years of an inquiry in a complete farce. Nobody should have to be subjected to that.

No moral authority springs to mind.

Haughey, Burke, Lawlor, Ahern, Callely etc.

The Tribunal cost less than buying and storing e-voting machines though the process is unquestionably flawed and needs serious revision.

The tribunal process isn't perfect by any means but it's probably the closest we are going to get to any form of prosecution or reprisal

What about an actual trial? If someone if accused of a crime then they should face a court of law. I don't get this tribunal rubbish.
