Solution for converting slides to digital photos

    I have a couple of hundred slides from the 80s and 90s that I want to scan somehow. Once I get that done, there are tonnes more slides from the family archives. In ALDI today they have this device that was discussed on here last year - generally not a great review.
    Could anyone make a suggestion as to how I can convert my slides as painlessly as possible. Ideally I'd like to spend around 100 euro and definitely less than 200euro.

    Argos carry some, don't they? Don't think I've heard much bad about them.

    My mam bought one of these a while ago, if you're mad into fine image quality and high DPI it's not great but if you just want to convert a few slides into digital images cheapely it's grand.
    If the slides are dirty, the dirt shows up and the colour can be a bit off but for general home use it's grand.

    Not sure if it's that particular device but the one she got, she is very happy with.

    I never thought of Argos. They have an agfa for around 70 and a brand called thumbs up for 100. They both look very like the ALDI one.
    I might try one of these and see how it goes.

    it can refer to scan resolution too; for a cheap film scanner, however, a high DPI is probably meaningless, especially if it's anything above 2400dpi.

    It does if you want to print them but really all I meant was the res.

    My point still stands though, it's fine for home use but don't think it's going to produce high quality images.

    I have something similar- the brand is Ion, I got it in Maplins, and it is available on some of those Irishtimes offers, and it is poor- speed and colour are fine, but the sharpness is very bad- I still haven't found the solution for scanning all my slides- I doubt I ever will.
