Teeth being pushed together but having wisdom teeth out

I used to have really straight teeth and a few people thought I'd had braces which made me very proud. How the mighty have fallen

Over the last few years they've been pushed a little together, I think because of my wisdom teeth. Well I'm having them out in a few weeks because they're causing various problems.
After that will my teeth eventually move back more to their original state?

The link between wisdom teeth and late lower incisor crowding is disputed. Studies where people who had there wisdom teeth out and those who didn't, saw a similar amount of lower incisor crowding. I dont know, is probably more to do with the angle of your bite but the evidence is inconclusive, anyway in answer to your question no your teeth wont go back by themselves after you wisdom teeth are removed. You would need a short course of braces or aligners to get them back and then some permanent retention.

It's actually my upper teeth I was more concerned with. The lower ones are a little more crowded but obviously less noticeable.

Can I ask in my ignorance what you mean by "braces or aligners"? I hadn't known of an alternative to braces. I don't think the slight crowding is enough to warrant €5000 or whatever braces cost (until I start making my millions of course) but are aligners different?

Sounds like standard relapse. Aligners are not bonded to your teeth they are removable gum shields like devices for minor tooth movements. If the relapse is minor it will not cost a full orthodontic fee for 3-6-9 months of treatment from a properly qualified orthodontist.
