Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The Portugeuse round of the WRC 2011 kicked off last night with a Super Special through the streets of Lisbon. Hirvonen went fastest with Loeb and Solberg behind him. It's also the first round of the FIA WRC Academy in which Irish man Craig Breen is competing.

Irish doing well too With Breen 1st in the A class and FIsher 3rd I think.. I think the Irish could clean up in that class this year

yep... Breen is the quicker of the two but he is also more likely to make a major mistake. Best of luck to both Irishmen !

Breens had some gearbox issues on stage 3 and 4. Should be changed during service before 5

    WRC Academy

Well Craig Breen went out of the rally with a lead of a minute when he misheard a pace note and stuck it in the ditch. He tried to get going again but could not get the car out. Alistair Fisher inherited the lead but through it away on the following stage (SS12) when he rolled the car off the road and into a tree, both driver and co-driver were okay and got going again but lost over five minutes with the off and finished the rally in fifth position. In the end Estonia's Egon Kaur won the inaugural round of the FIA WRC Academy. Breen took away five points for his five stage wins and Fisher bagged twelve points for his fifth place and two stage wins.

Three different winners to the first 3 rallies.

Looks like it could be a competitve championship this year and not another easy win for Loeb.

I have to believe that Ford will get their car in fast and reliable shape, otherwise WRC doesn't make much sense really with those time differences as they are now!
