It is not on as much these days and i was wondering if i could increase the amount of hot water it heats up as opposed to rads?

At present it's getting maybe 45 mins throughout the day from 3 intervals.

Just i could do with the hot water more than the rad heat at present(this week anyway :D).

Just has a dial box for the temp on the burner itself,it's a newish Firebird system installed just over a year ago.
Just to ad there is no immersion so the only hot water comes from the burner, silly really.:(

Is it a combi boiler , or do you have a cylinder that you could fit an immersion to , if you have a cylinder check if there is a stat fitted to it .

Can you heat water without heating the rads as well? I ask because my own system is old and it can't, but I do have an immersion on the cylinder but with no stat.

The only way I can get the system to divert water to heat cylinder is through balancing.

To avoid overheating there is a valve which I can adjust. Ironically this was only recently added - previously there wasn't any adjustment for this at all as far as I know.

It's a rented cottage, landlord had the wiring done for the immersion but never installed one(kinda glad as the missus would have it on all the time ;)),there isn't even a lagging jacket on the hotpress cylinder, just never bothered saying it to the landlord :o.

Would turning off a 2 of the 7 rads be of any benefit for the hot water temperature?

The thermostat is out on the boiler in the shed and it it has one main dial for the heating itself Max-Min,i usually have that on at @ 70%.
