Was down at my local pub a few days ago and one of my mates told me about a racial incident that took place the night before. We have a temp priest from Nigeria and some of the local idiots started calling him a black bastard. I know racism is found in every country, but it shocked me because we've had different races living here before and I've never heard of anything like this. Have any of you seen crap like this and if you have, did you do anything about it.

Can you clarify which pub it was and what time it happened? Incidents like that are illegal and it should be very easy to verify whether or not they actually occurred. Send me a PM if you don't feel like mentioning it publicly.

Gendarmes on the Paris metro. Came aboard with their big macho swagger, strolled the length of the carriage and started hassling the one black fella in the carriage. Chap was sitting quietly listening to his ipod. Only thing he did wrong was be the wrong colour. Pissed me off something brutal.

One time a load of Chinese people moved to where I lived and thought I was racist because there was a piece of square dirt on my window and as I was waving it at them from inside it looked like I had a Hitler moustache. We all went on the piss afterwards so it was all good in the end.

I was talking to a Mayo man and he was regaling me about his sex life, trying to impress me with the unusual (in his opinion) women he had slept with. He told me he shagged a disabled woman and the he said,
"I even covered a Filipino woman". Like a horse

Most racist thing I have seen is shop assistants being called racist by Africans because of some very small issue which could happen to anyone. My father also had some woman screaming he was a racist when he needed documents of hers to open an account which is normal procedure for everyone.

It is pretty horrible to see a person accused of such behavior for simply doing their jobs and which I have never seen to be anything to do with race. It causes huge embarrassment and can cause potential work/customer problems/perceptions.

I hate those guys. They once told me to leave the Arc De Triumph just because I was sitting under it drinking a beer. They wouldn't be so tough if I had been carrying a gun at the time.

A drunk sh1thead at a bus stop making monkey noises and leaping around to imitate an ape because there were two black women waiting at the same stop. The guy then proceeded to get on the bus and tell everyone he was going to have them shot by the IRA, and subsequently got arrested.

Yes that is also bull**** of the highest order. I know the race card can be abused and whitey isnt the only racist. However, this man was on his own, in an isolated village, probably lonely for some company. If I was in his position, I'd be feeling pretty low after this.

Eh, got to ask, look at what is says racism is:
"Racism is a specific form of discrimination and exclusion faced by cultural and ethnic minorities"

and the definition of racism by this site:
"Any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person"

Are these definitions not extremely limited and racist by ignoring cultural and ethnic majorities? Can a black person not be racist to a white person in Ireland, can a white person not be racist to a black person in Africa? The subjects of abuse are both in majorities in these examples, how does that not count as racism?

Also, if a couple of friends are slagging each other with not a hint of racism, why can someone else who has no knowledge of the context of the event be allowed to report it as racism?

Both issues seem bizarre, racist and willingly blinkered.
