Vincent Browne is great. He won't take any crap and if a politician tries to go down the waffling road he'll call them on it very quickly. Some of it is theatrical of course but it's entertaining all the same.

Seems so far that boards members love him, I think he is far better then Pat Kenny anyways, great interigator and doesn't appear to be as biased. The only people Pat Kenny would allow to talk tonight were Michael Noonan and Brian Lenihan at least on the Vincent Browne show they all got a shot. There was a mention on his show tonight about the political debate on boards.ie too

He is THE BOMB. In France they call him LE BOMB.

He's a mad uncle who no longer gives a crap about what anyone thinks and gives no person an easy time. And for that reason, he's great to watch. Even if you don't always agree with him.

I have to say I don't like him. I think he's very tabloid-like. He's very biased in his interviews, and is very rude, always talking over any guest he doesn't like. This obviously makes him very popular because most people don't like the guest in question either, but that doesn't make it right. I also think he's a very bad speaker, constantly mumbling garbage and stopping/starting the whole time.

That being said, I don't dislike him either. He doesn't take BS answers and, for that, I respect him. But don't ever fool yourself into thinking that he's impartial.

I'd agree with dotsman more or less. He's annoying and full of smoke. He doesn't let anybody make a point and shouts over people too much although a lot of the time people deserve it. He's better than the soft option though.

what party do you belong to, or is it your going on the show soon.

I used to have a lot of respect for him - maybe ten years ago. I haven't seen his TV3 programme but his opinion pieces in the IT are often just populist rants devoid of logic or valid reasoning. So, no... he wouldn't be my favourite.

i think he is the best, this is why i would like to see enda kenny on his show, he asks the questions we would like asked, and takes no crap, long may he keep going,
pat kenny would not get a look in, amature by comparison to brown,
would not like to see ursula halligan replace him to interview enda kenny, she would not get a look in either, he bring out the best and worst on all he interview,
i do look forward to him interviewing enda, and helping me make up[ my mind as to who i will bother to start my car and burn petrol to go vote for

I love the way he tears shreds out of the loony left on his show and their mad cap ways.

We were applying some sociological of the media analysis to Vincent Browne last week. Nothing major; just context, most used phrases, style etc.

I'll post em up tomorrow if I get the chance. It was quite interesting. He is certainly needed in our time of political meandering, but he's worth keeping a close eye on due to influence.

    VB is the bees knees
    I love when he says...
    Just answer the question!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 37,214 ✭✭✭✭Dudess

It appears he has assumed Michael O'Leary-esque status on Boards.ie - i.e. his "no nonsense" style makes him a "legend", therefore anyone who criticises him is a "begrudger".

I'm not particularly pushed about him.

i wouldn't dislike him so much if he gave the people he obviously doesn't agree with time to answer his questions instead of talking over them!

    very rude man IMO
