Feel free to move this to the conspiracy forum Moderators!

But I've noticed a high volume of forums and moderators to moderate the forums, I've also noticed a lot of new forums being made and also more users becoming mods!

    nothing unusual so far, right?

well heres my theory: How many of the mods suscribe monthly? a high percentage I'd imagine!

So does boards create pointless forums and make people mods to generate income?

    I thnk so!!!

    Any thoughts?

No, but I was scanned before I was made a mod. They didn't find anything.
Not sure what that means though.

    By social services presumably.

You mean the part of removing all your clothes and having the admins take photos? I thought we all had to have that done as part of our registration?

You're telling me I was scanned in a scam?!

around 500-600 of them I think. only around 30 mods, so OP, I think you're wrong. Only 50 euro to subscribe, so from subscriptions they only get about 25K. How can they afford to employ people? Must be mostly advertising I guess, but I don't think subscriptions, going on those numbers, comprise much of boards funding.

In fairness, you wouldn't even need to click the link to come to that conclusion.

Whatever about buying mods, I think boards has an agenda, or at least a bias, on certain topics.

Go on, I think what you're say is somehow connected to my case!

I don't get why the mods do it. Why waste your time by having to filter threads and all this stuff. I know people will say power but it's not like they can abuse it so where's the fun?

How about a Conspiracy Theories sub-forum - "Boards.ie Conspiracy Theories"? It might work as a corner for discussion of all the paranoid whinges concerns re Boards.ie specifically - e.g. mods, thanks (and all the concerns associated with it, such as "thanks-whoring" and "second post syndrome"), post count, whether mods/admins get paid, etc.

Im almost positive Subscription is not a Moderator prerequisite. Like, 99.99992% sure.

That 0.00008% though, it's scary. Freemasons for life!

I never subscribed before I started moderating. I did subscribe for a while, but only a good while after I became a moderator.

Usually people who say that are those who are dying to post unsubstantiated negative comments about various demographics in society. Fair enough if you observe certain trends, but you should balance it out by acknowledging they don't apply to all, otherwise it's akin to incitement to hatred, and in fairness, Boards.ie isn't in the business of that. And surely that's preferable.

Isn't the whole point of being a mod is that you don't have to subscribe:D

The 22k I get a year from modding could be more, but I am happy enough with it.

All those years of thinking those "Earn Big $$$ working from home" ads you see on lawn signs at the edge of the roadway were just scams.

The notion that people rush to post something smart when a thread is posted so that they'll get a load of thanks. I personally think that's reading into things a wee bit too much.

But its directly related to how many posts you have & in conjunction with your thanks ratio...so your doing well :D

People actually... believe that? I mean making a funny post is one thing but anyone who believes in that is a bit insane.
