Anyway, there's nothing wrong with enjoying the day. By all means, spend all day in the pub or drink throughout the day. Just don't aim to get amazingly drunk.
Most people won't care if others drink all day today nor if people spend it all day in the pub.
The problem most people have with this holiday is that while we could be going out and having about 6 pints or so, the scumbags do ruin it and rather than have an 8 pack or something, they have the 8 pack of cans, continue drinking, wait till the clubs open, go to town and start smashing the place and causing trouble when it's closing time because they can't use their own free will to refuse to stop drinking when it's obvious they're far too drunk.0 -

Are you saying people who think like that are scumbags, or that amount of drink brings out the scumness in alot of people?
Moreso that the amount of alcohol they consume brings it out. Of course, letting yourself get that drunk isn't the most intelligent of ideas.
I'll make it a bit clearer to the other post.
Basically, if you know you're a bad drunk and still aim (not just having a few drinks and getting drunk) to get very drunk, you shouldn't be let near alcohol.
But when you combine immaturity with high amounts of alcohol it never works out well.0 -

Agree with you, but theres plenty of people capable of drinking 8 cans before having a few pints in the pub then nightclub and not causing any trouble!0 -

Normally cans and a somewhat empty stomach (maybe a bit of a sandwhich) and I'm fine. Weird how it works out. Maybe you're too old?
Get a good meal, give it about 30 minutes and see how you feel. If the same, either grin and handle it or else just get some spirits from the offie?0 -
