Word of warning, skip all the Lara DLC. It's pretty bad. Game is excellent, though! :D

Well, let's see what it will be tommorow!

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,067 ✭✭✭Gunmonkey

Its all "St Patricks" themed stuff, so rither soemthing coloured green or some strained connection to Ireland. And the game is "Clover" for 200 I think, couldnt see any other games on it.

    But unfortunately this.

And Metacritic ain't much better! Still though, good to have the extra game on offer but realistically, this is pretty bad for a holiday week offer given what's come before witout any occasion to back it up

There's always a seperate game on Deal of the Week that isn't part of the multi reductions no? If that's the case then what are we supposed to be getting?

  • Registered Users Posts: 914 ✭✭✭ChickenBalls

The game is Clover for this week

It's on indie games so not available here.

Also Clover is part of the Paddy's Day specials. The point I'm making is that there is usually two seperate deals, such as the Rockstar Deal of the Week running in tandem with the Dance Central promo some weeks back. So Sonic then is the standard DOTW game, whereas the others are Paddy's deals.

Is there something to stop you creating your live account, setting the location in the US, and availing of the coolness that is the US service? Or do they use IP addresses to restrict it? My account was created initially in the UK when I was over there and seems to work fine now Im here in Ireland.

Problem is with credit cards I believe. It's possible to set up an alternate account and buy stuff if you have, for example, a US points card. All the Europe point cards are the same too as I understand it - so if you buy a card in Germany for 2100 points, you can still redeem it over here on either an Irish or German account.

So your UK account will work, but you can only top it up with point cards or a UK credit card. Doesn't go on IP as far as I know.

Some stuff is geo-restricted e.g. movie rental. So even with a US account and US points, you won't be able to use the service on a non-US IP.

Yeah a pity we cant use netflix etc.

    I'd imagine it's 400, and the DLC is 200

I think Worms 2 is normally 400 so at 200 it really should be snapped up!

Sorry for the delay with your point I just wanted to find out what the story is with this.

For Ireland, Xbox Live don't have to have a game each week I'm told - because there is so many add-ons and avatar items this week it justifies leaving a game out saying that Full House Poker is one of the promoted games this week.

Just on the DOTW there's a correction here:

Your 29th March - 3 April are a week too early.
Battlefield deals are on before these.

No mention of Battlefield deals on Major Nelson, Keith.....
(I'd assume that the XBL Director of Programming has the correct details!) :)

Keith works for Xbox/Microsoft Ireland, and he has l337 advance lists of upcoming deals. Maybe they decided to pass on Battlefield, and edited it out? (or added it in!)

Also, new MajorNelson site looks awful
