AND SHOTGUNS? How anyone can complain when they get killed by one is beyond me. Ghost Recon I was a big fan of but not for teamwork as every gun is a 2 bullet kill or something.

Black Ops is quite simply the best COD IMO, because there is a way to combat campers unlike the last few games and you have more health and can adapt to being shot.

QuickScope... you got Skill LOL, COD is not a TeamWork Game it Reminds me of Quake Arena 3 on PC if you ask me...

In Mw2 Sitrep Pro was a combination of Black Ops' Hacker Pro & Ninja Pro. So I choose my Hacker Pro class to locate equipment and a possible camper, get killed by the camper, choose Ninja to surprise the camper and get killed by the camper's equipment until finally choosing tactical mask pro class to locate the camper and kill him.

Cost to me: up to 3 lives for one 1 kill; cost to camper 1 live:up to 3 kills. Simply put the campers will generally win out in 1-Vs-1 but the campers lose out against a coordinated team based strategy. It get's tricky when there are greater numbers for both sides. I've seen teams of campers and I'm sure others have too.

I think the reason for this is that treyarch probably didn't have enough ideas for perks and/or were reluctant to use Commando/Danger Close based ones and ended up diluting the stronger ones down to being nearly useless. It's entirely possible that the 3rd tier perks in Mw2 were overpowered but they favoured the aggressor, in Black Ops the camper is favoured.

Off the top of my head as an extra perk idea, I'd have included a medic based one (similar to COD3) where Second Chance Pro would take 10-15 seconds for a non-Medic teammate to revive a player with Medic Pro it would take 5-10 seconds and you can only kneel/stand reviving a player, any interruptions in treatment means the second chancer dies. It might not solve campers but it would mean that it focuses on greater teamwork and tactics rather than sitting on your own in a corner.

Care to explain why? I've explained why ghost campers have advantages against most types of 3rd tier perks. It's impossible to have a pure camper hunter class as all the useful perks apart from hardened are tier 3.

Steady aim
Ninja Pro
smg/shotgun nova gas & jammer

Counter
Use tactical grenades once jammer is down to restore advantage, or shoot your own claymore/equipment.

Camper hunter 2
scavenger
hardened
hacker pro
LMG, rpg & c4.

Counter
Pick up equipment & hide teammates will locate and kill the LMG user.

Camper hunter 3
flak jacket
warlord pro
tactical mask pro
smg/AR, concussion & motion sensor

Counter
Very little unless using a jammer, chances are you're position will be known so it comes down to quicker reactions/luck/connection speed/gun choice etc.

They're probably the best setups for combating a camper off the top of my head but since most of the useful perks are in the 3rd tier you are going to be at a disadvantage.

Camper 1
ghost pro
warlord pro
ninja pro/hacker pro/tactical mask
smg with rapid fire, motion sensor, claymore, jammer, etc

There is far less effort in being a camper than trying to hunt them, along with greater rewards.

To put it simply it's impossible to have a pure camper hunter class, whilst it's possible to have several pure camper classes.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before but I'm pretty sure I found guys doing a form of BOOSTING in Black Ops last night. I decided in the last 2 days to go and try and get marathon pro so obviously you have to play capture the flag to do this and to cap the enemies flag 15 times to get the perk. I never really played capture the flag as it use to piss me having to wait to respawn but I said I would go ahead and play it to get the pro perk, I thought it was going to take days and days to get it but in the end I managed to get it last night in about a day and a half with only playing in total about 3 hours of it.

Anyway I was playing it last night before I earned the 15 captures and I was playing on Summit and I noticed that the enemies seemed to get the flags capped in the space of about 2-3 minutes which is extremely fast and I noticed pretty much the I was the only person on my team to try and capture the flag. So this morning I decided to watch the game again in theatre mode and I noticed there was 2 guys on my team who just hid at the end of the map beside each other and they did'nt attempt anything, not to even try and defend the flag or nothing. When the sides changed they did the exact same thing. At the end of the game they both had no kills, no deaths, no defends and no captures while a guy on the opposite team had 3 captures. There could of been more at it in the game but it was just these three that I noticed. Obviously if the 2 of them do nothing that means there was only four on our team which makes it easier for the enemy to capture the flag. They were probably doing this in loads of games and taking turns to capture the flag just so they could get marathon pro the easy way. <SNIP>

I may have another look back through it and see was there anybody else involved.

Did anybody ever notice anything like this before? I thought I would name and shame them. If I get the other guys name I'll post it aswell.

I traded in black ops around late january and got mw2 again. I was loving it for a while, now i'm starting to pang for black ops again, it really is the most balanced cod. Think i might get it again...

Tactical mask pro or specifically the nova gas challenge is ridiculously hard like anyone who moans about getting 1 sentry gun kill for ghost pro hasnt a clue. Been using it on all but my anti air classes since level 17 and now on 36 of this prestige and still only 13/20. Connection problems(getting signed out) have cost me 2-5 too. I say a range too cos the hit detection on them is terrible like today I found someone prone near that hut overlooking B on jungle. Threw a nova practically up his crack, nothing. Hanoi yesterday, got a hit with one kill him two seconds later, not counted in my challenge. Relative to the 20 flashbangs and stuns needed, this should've been 5 or 10 max. Better be worth it.

The one thing that I HATE about CoD is the knifing. IMO it should be slower or just taken out completely. The game is awesome apart from that.

What? What is wrong with shotguns??? I can understand quickscoping being annoying (I dont believe they have any real advantage, it's purely the case that it annoys the fck out of me and just looks out of place in the game). But shotguns are perfectly reasonable gun to use.
If fact, you are at a pretty big disadvantage using shotguns. They're not half as good as in MW2 when you could have them as a secondary.

Most complaints I've seen about shotguns has being because they've been nerfed so badly.. i.e. making them almost unusable.

Forward on 4 hours later. Still three bars. My speedtest.net was reporting 60ms ping times and full download/upload capacity, but the games were all over the place. I just couldnt play. People freezing and jumping constantly. Some of the worst games I'd ever experienced. It wasn't a host problem as I left and started numerous times to no avail.

Is it possible that you have done setup work that would improve the times / packet loss from the xbox to host?
For example. I made some router setup changes last week that I believe have helped. (even though I'm reporting unbelievably laggy games above, all in all, they've been better since I made the changes).

Geography comes into play too. I don't know where you all at, but if you are in Cork and Ade is in Dublin, then there is a good chance that Ade will have less latency in a lot of lobbies, as you can probably assume there are more players close to him (and so the routes will probably have less hops).

Are you communicating with the same server as him for speedtest.net (Dublin), and both on Eircom?

this, I was so excited being able to use a SPAS as a primary weapon as it was my gun of choice for so long on MW2 (370+ kills in one day with it once \:D/ )but the shotguns are rubbish for the most part in Blops, stopped using them after a few levels as they're so inconsistent, I've literally walked up behind people with their back to me, took aim and blasted them in the back of the head and got a hitmarker, ridiculous.

I didn't consider that actually. I suppose I always assume that the host in blops is more than likely in UK and that it wouldn't really matter where you're connecting from in Ireland. But the host is probably in Dublin quite a bit as well.

My speedtest was running off a server in Dublin anyway.

Ha, I did that exact test before as well. Guy wasnt even playing the game. Walked up to him and blasted him in the face, hitmarker.....hilarious.

In saying that, I still use the shotguns quite a bit. They're just so much fun. On the right maps they can be used pretty effectively as well. Stadium is my favourite for shotgun use.

anyone notice the ice bridge glitch on Discovery , they look perfectly intact but when you cross them you fall to your death , i think its when the enemy shoot them out, they look ok for there team mate but intact for everyone else, got stung a few times on this when playing this map, so now i just jump over them just to be on the safe side:D
also maybe im a bit wrong calling it a glitch , but its certainly a boo boo;)

Just played two games there one on discovery the other kowloon. I noticed a lad on discovery was camping a bit but I killed him twice so I didn't take much notice. Then the 2nd game on kowloon I was keeping an eye out for him.

1 min gone in the game he had 0 kills 0 deaths
2 min gone the same
right up to 7:50 were I killed him. He was lying down in the building at the back of the map (on top of the stairs)

I went and watched the game in the theatre mode. Until I killed him, he spent the first 7:50 actually lying down with his sights pointed at the door. Honestly in all my time playing call of duty, I've never seen anything as bad as that.
