Should shinners apologise for backing Hitler

We constantly hear Shinners demanding that the Brits apologise for this or that but I have never heard them apologise for supporting Hitler in WW2 .

It does seem odd that they would have supported the Nazis in their struggle against Britain.

Had Britain and other states prepared to fight the Nazi war machine not been victorious in the Battle of Britain, Hitler would have strolled into Ireland (as he had plans for a full scale invasion of the island following the success of operation sea lion) and would have enslaved and slaughtered the Irish population.

Sorry, the only threat to Irish neutrality during the 1940s came from the British.

Can you provide even one piece of evidence that O'Duffy collaborated with the Nazi party? It would probably make the front page of tomorrows Irish Times if you could. Otherwise stop adding even more ridiculous accusations to this embarrassing thread.

After the British apologise for their collaboration/support for Nazism until they finally decided to go to war against Nazi Germany, six years after Hitler came to power. Six years. Which will happen when the British state is finally removed from Ireland. I'm sure the British would be delighted to have part of their country occupied by a foreign state and would have no resentment while that occupation continued. Right?

Funny you should mention O'Duffy he ended up side by side with the IRA at a meeting with Nazi agent Oscar Pfaus on 13 February 1939.

It is a common misconception that Time's "man of the year" is a purely honourable award to win.

The person of the year is highly influential and successful but not necessarily 'good'.

It is designed to fuel thought and debate. Loads of controversial people got it, including Vladmir Putin.
