    @avakinder

    On what you say on the LGBT issues - I think most of what you say is very reasonable. High time too.

    I also think such rights should apply to all.

    The issues on 3rd level education -yes -in an ideal world and if the country can afford it. Currently 25% of people leave the secondary educational system functionally illiterate (cannot read the directions on a packet of aspirin) .

    I am a Dad too and will feel the pinch but if some form of contribution is needed we should look at it.

    My daughter had her blonde moment today & told us that we should vote Indepependent because she believes the country should be Independent.

    She's 17 -where have I gone wrong :)

    I got that beat! My uncle asked my 21 year oldcousin the week of the second lisbon treaty referendum if she knew what the vote was about, and what way she was voting.

    Her reply: Yeah, I've to vote for that Obama fella don't I?

    I heard that the Mail had estimated the independents will get a derisory percentage of the votes. The equivalent of 60 votes a piece. I think Eamonn is worth more than that.

    So here is wishing Eamonn the best in his campaign and we do need articulate and level headed people in the Dail and who present well in the media.

    Candidate links are here for the Independents t/a New Vision :D

    I always think that countries and economies are run on small things not just the big high falutin stuff of election campaigns.

    Don't think you should beleive everything you read in the mail. However....

    It is likely that many "FF" voters will be attracted to them only to give their number 2 to FF. Don't be surprised if FF get 20 seats because of it :(

    Eamonn is a good man & it would be great if he is elected.

    Eamonn didn't get in and I would hate to think this is the last we hear of him.

    How did Fis Nua do ?

    Not good. But on the up side it was a learning process and we will be better prepared for the next election. However we are having good success highlighting the sale of our natural resources. The woodlandleague petition has shot from a handful to now over 18,000 with our people been interviewed. It was even mentioned on the Late Late show last Friday night.

    The Woodlandleague petition has now topped 20,000 and rising. One mention on the Late Late saw it sky rocket. If Forestry and Aarhus had been mentioned during the election we would be in a much better position.
