Quick XBox 360 controller on PC question

So I downloaded Crash Bandicoot 2 onto my laptop there today and I was wondering if I could play it using an XBox360 controller. I already have the software installed to use the controller on Windows. I have no bother using the controller when playing Fallout New Vegas on my laptop but it just doesnt seem to work with Crash Bandicoot.

Anyone know if theres a way to make it work? I fancy some good old fashioned platforming action but I hate having to use a laptop keypad to play.

Is there any options in the Crash game to use the controller with it ?

theres a program you use for older software that maps keyboard keys to your controller, but the name escapes me right now

Hard to say...none of the options are in English
